Usage rights transfer only on final approval
Until the final milestone is approved, the client may not publish the logo. That's standard practice, not distrust – and it protects you from "we'll just start using it now and pay later".
Clearly cap the number of concepts
Three concepts, two rounds of revisions – this framework prevents endless requests for new variations. Put the numbers in the acceptance criteria. Additional rounds are billed as their own milestone; you can say so openly.
List file formats individually
"All files" leads to disputes ("the vector file is missing!"). List them: SVG, PNG in two sizes, PDF, colour values, black-and-white variant. When approving, the client ticks off exactly that list.
Frequently asked questions
When do I transfer the usage rights?
Best done when the final milestone is approved. Then everything is paid before the client can freely use the logo.
What if the client doesn't like any of the concepts?
Agree that a new round of concepts is an additional milestone.
