Get the design approved before production
At the design stage, the client confirms dimensions, materials and colour. Only this approval starts production – changing course afterward is expensive, and that's exactly what the approval is for.
Secure materials early
Materials for custom furniture are cut to size and hard to reuse. Secure the materials budget before ordering – the "materials & production" milestone is for exactly that.
Document on-site approval
Joint approval with a photo record: flaws are discussed directly, minor points documented. The criterion states what approval means.

What if the client disappears after the design?
The design is already paid for then – that's exactly what the first milestone is for.
Are changes possible once production has started?
Only for an extra fee – state that in the design criterion.
