Secure the specification as its own milestone first
The specification is your most important document and deserves its own milestone. Only once it's approved does building start – and anything added later has something written to refer back to.
New requests = new milestone
"Could we just quickly add…" is the most expensive sentence in an app project. Take it seriously: "Sure – I'll add a milestone for that." The client then decides, with budget and time in view, whether it's worth it to them.
Store accounts belong to the client
The Apple Developer account and Google Play account run under the client's name: they pay the fees, they own the app. You get access – not the other way around.
Frequently asked questions
What if the scope changes?
The specification is the benchmark. Anything beyond it is added as an extra milestone.
What counts as a "critical bug"?
Define it: e.g. a crash or a core feature not usable. Cosmetic issues belong in maintenance.
Why Stipme instead of an invoice?
Your client reserves the budget for each milestone in advance with the payment partner Stripe. You start with security, and they only pay on approval — automatically after 72 hours (excluding weekends).
